SDT offers you training with very good prospects. We invest specifically in newcomers and enable our trainees to develop their own knowledge and skills in a targeted manner – and also to continuously improve them through ongoing advanced training programmes after initial training.
Generally, training is open to anyone with a school leaving certificate. Motivation, the ability to work in a team and enthusiasm for an exciting world shaped by technology – the world of generators and engines – are just as important to us as good qualifications.

As an Industrial mechanic (M/F) at Schiffsdieseltechnik Kiel GmbH you are a professional for large machines and plants. Variety is part of your everyday life.
Whether grinding, milling or filing – during your training you will learn all metalworking techniques. After installing the technical systems, you will be able to pass on your knowledge of operation to customers and colleagues. In short: You are the all-rounder in all industrial operations! You manufacture components and assemblies for drive and power generation systems, assemble them, set them up and put them into operation. Your other tasks include monitoring and optimizing manufacturing processes, as well as taking on repair and maintenance tasks.
The 3 ½-year apprenticeship as an industrial mechanic is exciting, varied and demanding.
Schiffsdieseltechnik Kiel GmbH has been active in the field of genset construction since 1976 and since then has serviced approx. 5000 gensets, engines and gearboxes worldwide. SDT is a team of 40 employees who would like to offer you an apprenticeship with very good prospects.
In order for you not only to be successful but also to have fun, you should already have some qualities and skills:

- You are interested in the subjects computer science, physics, mathematics, German and English

As an Electronics technician for operating technology at Schiffsdieseltechnik Kiel GmbH, you are a professional for large machines and systems. Variety is part of your everyday life.
At our company, you will assemble, maintain or service a wide variety of ship operating systems, such as those for power supply (gensets). In addition, you will gain an insight into complex electrical systems of measurement and control technology and plants as well as drive technology. Your tasks will include assembly and maintenance work as well as troubleshooting in the event of system failure, which includes testing individual system parts, connections and lines. You will also learn how to wire installation circuits and be introduced to job planning, preparation and documentation.
The 3 ½-year apprenticeship as an electronics technician for operating technology is exciting, varied and demanding.
